THE NEED
Since 2020, Bridge of Hope’s national network has seen a 441% increase in families seeking support. Single-parent families are struggling to find affordable housing, with rising costs forcing many into displacement. The time to transition from homelessness to stable housing has doubled in the past two years, leaving families with increased stress, isolation, and financial uncertainty.
THE SOLUTION
Imagine giving a single mother and her children the chance to move into safe, stable housing-transforming months of living in a car or shelter into a new beginning. With the support of Neighboring Volunteers and case managers, families turn trauma into hope, pain into resilience, and homelessness into homes filled with love and security.
Through the three-year Making Room campaign, ending March 31, 2026, Bridge of Hope will expand affordable housing, enhance family support services, and expand the Neighboring Movement into more communities – reaching even more families in need. But we need your help to achieve this vision.
Challenge
Inflation and economic instability have caused rental housing costs to soar, making it difficult for single parents to secure affordable housing.
Opportunity
Bridge of Hope is addressing this problem by providing rental assistance, cultivation landlord relationships, purchasing, renovating and partnering to build housing units, and implementing various initiates to reduce the amount of time that families spend waiting for housing.
Challenge
Recently, many families served by Bridge of Hope have been experiencing increased levels of stress, isolation, financial insecurity and trauma due to facing eviction and homelessness.
Opportunity
Bridge of Hope is strengthening parents and children by supporting their healing through mental health resources, increased volunteer engagement, financial management, employment partnerships, and empowering mother as community leaders.
Challenge
Communities across the country are facing a growing crisis of family homelessness, resulting in more displaced and disheartened families.
Opportunity
Bridge of Hope is expanding to new communities nationwide and increasing services in our Learning Labs in Lancaster and Chester Counties. We’re fostering cultural humility and growing our endowment to create sustainable funding, ensuring more families can find a place to call home.

When Amber’s partner made a threatening comment towards her, Amber knew she needed to leave for her and her daughter Emilia’s safety. With nowhere else to go, Amber and Emilia slept on a mat in a storage room at a relative’s house. She searched for an apartment and applied for assistance, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t afford rent and didn’t qualify for help.
Amber felt alone. Hopeless. Stuck.
Then, everything changed. Because of generous donors like you and the support of Bridge of Hope, Amber and Emilia finally found more than just a home—they found people who cared. With the help of Neighboring Volunteers, they built a new life filled with safety and the belief that they’d never again be alone.
