Bridge of Hope National announces new Board Chair and Executive Committee

William C. Snyder has been selected to serve as Chair of the Bridge of Hope® National Board of Directors. His term became effective April 1, 2020 and he will lead the board along with 16 other directors. Bill is joined by Vice Chair, Katie Engle, Boston MA, Lockton Companies; Secretary, Ben Cattell Noll, Lancaster PA Homeless Services Consultant with ICF International; and Treasurer, Steve Hawbaker C.P.A., Gibsonia PA, Allegheny Financial Group.

Bill, of York PA, currently serves as Consultant – Greenstone Mosaic, LLC, a subsidiary of Greenstone Living. Greenstone Living is affiliated with Luthercare, Lititz, PA. Greenstone Mosaic provides consulting services to organizations in the areas of cultural values alignment, leadership development, strategic planning, and board development. Bill previously served as Vice President – Philanthropy and Community Engagement.  He is an ordained minister of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. Prior to joining Luthercare in 2009, Bill served as Vice President, System Leadership and Collaboration with Lutheran Services in America. Currently, Bill serves on the Health Solutions Council of United Way of Lancaster County and the Policy Council of Lutheran Advocacy Ministry of PA. Bill reflected, “When I listen to the stories of families, in their own words, about moving from homelessness to stability and hope, I know why I believe in Bridge of Hope. I believe God is at work, ending homelessness one family at a time, connecting neighbors, and building community. We have never needed community more than now. …[And] I am thankful for our board members and their commitment to this ministry.”

The Bridge of Hope National Board of Directors provides mission oversight to Bridge of Hope services in Lancaster and Chester Counties, PA, as well as the national network of 19 Bridge of Hope locations in 11 states. Bridge of Hope has been ending family homelessness for over 30 years by engaging Christian churches in neighboring – a unique model of walking alongside at-risk single parents with children. In addition to Bridge of Hope program services, each family is matched with a group of 6-8 Neighboring Volunteers who provide tangible support, encouragement, and emergency help like occasional childcare or transportation.  Neighboring Volunteers also share their network to make connections for employment, housing, and other resources. This strong, three-way partnership, between the family, staff, and Neighboring Volunteers, has proven to be consistently effective in ending and preventing family homelessness. Chief Executive Officer, Edith Yoder stated, “Bill’s nonprofit experience, commitment to excellence and vision will serve Bridge of Hope well as we navigate the increasing need for Bridge of Hope services.”

Vegee Sardi Black, Lititz PA and Will Rothenberger, Lititz PA, have also joined the Bridge of Hope National Board in their first terms.
