Your generosity has brought us so close to completing the Making Room Campaign – and now, new opportunities mean we can do even more. We have set a new stretch goal of $9.3 million. Every dollar toward this expanded goal helps make room for more families who need a place to call home.
Because More Families Need Housing — Right Now.
As this campaign has unfolded, the world has changed. Economic pressures have increased the number of families facing homelessness, while safe, affordable housing has become harder than ever to find.
Yet in the middle of these challenges, remarkable new opportunities have emerged – including the chance to acquire additional properties that will allow us to house more mothers and children than we originally imagined.
These opportunities come with increased costs, which is why we’ve expanded our campaign with a stretch goal of $9.3 million, up from the original $8.4 million goal. Together, we can turn today’s challenges into opportunities for even greater impact.

Since 2020, Bridge of Hope’s national network has seen a striking 441% increase in families seeking support. Single-parent families are struggling to find affordable housing, with rising costs forcing many into displacement. The time to transition from homelessness to stable housing has doubled in the past two years, leaving families with increased stress, isolation, and financial uncertainty.
Imagine giving a single mother and her children the chance to move into safe, stable housing – transforming months of living in a car or shelter into a new beginning. With the support of Neighboring Volunteers and case managers, families turn trauma into hope, pain into resilience, and homelessness into homes filled with love and security.
Through the Making Room campaign, Bridge of Hope will expand affordable housing, enhance whole family support services, and expand the Neighboring Movement into more communities – reaching even more families in need. But we need your help to achieve this vision.
Challenge Inflation and economic instability have caused rental housing costs to soar, making it difficult for single parents to secure affordable housing.
Opportunity Bridge of Hope is addressing this problem by providing rental assistance, cultivating landlord relationships, purchasing, renovating and partnering to build housing units, and implementing various initiatives to reduce the amount of time that families spend waiting for housing.
Challenge Recently, many families served by Bridge of Hope have been experiencing increased levels of stress, isolation, financial insecurity and trauma due to facing eviction and homelessness.
Opportunity Bridge of Hope is strengthening parent and children by supporting healing through mental health resources, increased volunteer engagement, financial management, employment partnerships, and empowering mothers as community leaders.
Challenge Communities across the country are facing a growing crisis of family homelessness, resulting in more displaced and disheartened families.
Opportunity Bridge of Hope is expanding to new communities nationwide and increasing services in our Learning Lab locations in Lancaster and Chester Counties. We’re fostering cultural humility and growing our endowment to create sustainable funding, ensuring more families can find a place to call home.
When Amber’s partner made a threatening comment towards her, Amber knew she needed to leave for her and her daughter Emilia’s safety. With nowhere else to go, Amber and Emilia slept on a mat in a storage room at a relative’s house. She searched for an apartment and applied for assistance, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn’t afford rent and didn’t qualify for help.
Amber felt alone. Hopeless. Stuck.
Then, everything changed. Because of generous donors like you and the support of Bridge of Hope, Amber and Emilia finally found more than just a home—they found people who cared. With the help of Neighboring Volunteers, they built a new life filled with safety and the belief that they’d never again be alone.

When we launched the campaign, we planned to meet the housing needs we anticipated at that time. Since then, economic challenges have increased the number of families facing homelessness, and affordable housing has become harder to find. At the same time, new opportunities have emerged – such as acquiring additional properties – that will allow us to serve even more families. This stretch goal turns those challenges into opportunities for greater impact.
Not at all. Our original goal reflected the best information available and a plan to acquire fewer properties. Since then, the housing market has shifted dramatically – and with that change came incredible new opportunities. We now have the chance to secure additional properties and serve more families than we ever imagined possible. Rather than scaling back, we’re embracing this moment to expand our impact and make room for even more families who need housing and hope.
Absolutely! Your generosity has propelled us to the brink of reaching our original goal and put us well on our way toward the expanded goal. Every dollar you’ve given is creating housing and hope for families. This stretch goal builds on that momentum and allows us to do even more together.
We are committed to achieving the vision of this campaign – failure is not an option. The original plan will absolutely be fulfilled, and we’re already well on our way. Reaching the stretch goal simply means we can do even more: more families housed, more stability for the future, and more hope where it’s needed most. Every gift now accelerates that expanded impact and helps us seize opportunities we never imagined when we started.
The additional funds will allow us to acquire and renovate properties, expand housing options, and strengthen support for families facing homelessness. Every contribution directly helps create safe, stable homes for families in our community.
More specifically, the stretch goal will support:
Together, these investments expand our capacity, deepen stability for the families we serve, and position us for long‑term impact.
