We invite you to join us for the Bridge of Hope Spring Gala Luncheon on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the DoubleTree Resort in Lancaster. This year’s theme, “Hope Can’t Wait: Stories of Strength and Resilience,” will highlight the powerful relationships that help families move from crisis to stability – and ultimately to joy.

The need has never been more urgent. Family homelessness continues to rise, with thousands of children experiencing housing instability and uncertainty. For many, “home” has meant a car, a shelter, or a place not meant for living. Bridge of Hope is responding to this growing crisis – and your support through the Gala Luncheon makes that response possible.

In-person attendance is reserved for sponsors at the $500 level and above, each receiving eight tickets to attend. Sponsors also have the option to participate virtually if they are unable to join us in person. Register as a sponsor by April 10 to be included in the event program.

Because Hope Can’t Wait for families facing homelessness, we want as many people as possible to be part of this meaningful event. This year, we’re again offering free virtual attendance for anyone who wishes to join us via livestream.

Having a home means that every Saturday morning, my kids climb into bed with me for snuggle time. It reminds us all that we are safe now.

Because of you, more families know this feeling.

We’re celebrating the incredible success of the Making Room Initiative — a three-year strategic initiative which began with an ambitious $8.4 million goal and is now just $84,634 away from reaching our $9.3 million stretch goal by March 31. This is a historic moment for Bridge of Hope, and it’s possible because of your generosity.

Bridge of Hope honors the legacy of Dr. John Perkins, who passed away on Friday, March 13. Dr. Perkins was the co-founder of CCDA - Christian Community Development Association and one of the most influential voices connecting evangelical Christianity to racial and social justice.

We have an appreciation and deep gratitude for the work of Dr. Perkins – his ability to integrate the Gospel and the work of engaging people of faith with those in need. He spoke directly to the heart of Bridge of Hope’s work and his impact will leave a lasting legacy on many people.

“God has always wanted the vulnerable in society to be cared for. He never intended for them to languish in poverty, abuse, slavery, homelessness, or other types of devastation. When we care for individuals who are trapped in these ways—when we show them love and help them move toward freedom and wholeness—we participate in bringing a little part of God`s Kingdom back into alignment with His greater plan. We do justice and God smiles.” ― From Dream with Me: Race, Love, and the Struggle We Must Win

“It reminds me that there is so much I don’t know about what families face each day when they are homeless.”

At Bridge of Hope, we are committed to cultural humility, which means a commitment to lifelong learning and critical self-reflection. My friend’s simple statement that there is so much she doesn’t know is a beautiful example of what cultural humility looks like. What else don’t we know as we lean in to love our neighbors facing homelessness?

“A community is a group of people who agree to grow together.” -Simon Sinek

At Bridge of Hope, Neighboring is built on this truth. Families and volunteers don’t enter a one-sided receiver/helper relationship; they step into mutuality. As families move from crisis to stability, Neighboring Volunteers grow too, deepening empathy, faith, and understanding. This is what transformation looks like when we choose to grow together.
