Martin Luther King Jr Day: If you can’t walk then crawl

January 21, 2019

Our work at Bridge of Hope is to address the injustice of family and child homelessness.  After 30 years, I wish we could have resolved homelessness by now.  Instead, the need continues to grow.

On this day of honoring Martin Luther King Jr, these words he spoke offer light and hope as we move forward in the fight against homelessness:  “If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do, you have to keep moving forward.”

Bishop Desmond Tutu, likewise, is quoted as saying:  “We are only the light bulbs and our job is just to remain screwed in!”

Let’s stay faithful.  Maybe we have to crawl.  Maybe we just focus on being the light bulb that is screwed in.  Let’s keep working to end family and child homelessness!  #neighboringtoendhomelessness
