Bridge of Hope North Central Iowa Awarded Top Benchmark Award

October 29, 2019

Bridge of Hope National is pleased to award Bridge of Hope North Central Iowa the Top Benchmark Award for 2018-19.

The Award is for exemplary results in six Bridge of Hope benchmarks; 100% of families were connected with Neighboring Volunteers, and moved into safe and sustainable housing within 60 days of starting services. Additionally, 100% of the families were employed, and continued to live in safe and sustainable housing at completion of the program. Finally, 100% of Neighboring Volunteers received training to equip them to support the families they were connected with.

Wendy Hoke Witmer, Director of Impact for Bridge of Hope National stated: “In today’s economy and housing market, for families to exit homelessness quickly and to sustain that housing is a big deal.  Homeless service providers need to work harder and smarter to bring resources to bear that families might not otherwise have access to. Bridge of Hope North Central Iowa staff and volunteers have done just that for all of the families they served in 2018-19!”

Bridge of Hope is a National network of 19 locations across 11 states.  The mission of Bridge of Hope is to engage Christian Faith Communities in ending family homeless through neighboring relationships that demonstrate Christ’s love.

Edith Yoder, Executive Director of Bridge of Hope National said, “We extend congratulations to Bridge of Hope North Central Iowa for their great work and strong board and staff leadership.  We are proud of their leadership in our national network and delighted to showcase their work with this national award.”
