Coronavirus Family Impact Fund
Every family Bridge of Hope serves has been impacted by coronavirus. Some have lost their jobs, or had hours reduced. Some are working as nursing assistants and in the food industry as front line workers, with potential exposures and unpaid quarantine time. Single mothers are juggling work and homeschooling, and quite a few have children with health issues. Even if rent isn’t being collected, back rent is accruing and future payments are looming. Calls for help have more than doubled, as many more families are facing homelessness.
Bridge of Hope National has established the Coronavirus Family Impact Fund to respond to this crisis. Thanks to the generosity of many, we initially raised $71,000 for the original Coronavirus Response Fund this summer (surpassing our initial goal by $11,000). Those gifts helped us provide initial relief to families in the program impacted by layoffs and unemployment from the early stay-at-home orders.
Bridge of Hope is committed to immediately and significantly expanding the number of families we serve. Funding is needed to answer the increase in calls for help as the pandemic extends into yet another season. Meeting critical, acute needs of families who have been impacted by the pandemic, including additional rental assistance and family emergency funds, is vital to stability.
Your gift is a vital lifeline to increasingly vulnerable families. Will you help us raise $34,000 by March 31?
