Resources for Bridge of Hope affiliates
 

From developing a strong board to raising funds and serving homeless families, Bridge of Hope National offers a variety of training and resources to help you and other caring Christians end and prevent family homelessness in your community. These resources can help you build a solid and effective Bridge of Hope affiliate that makes a lasting difference for homeless and at-risk single mothers and their children.

Resources from Bridge of Hope National include:

  1. Two days of initial board training (in your community) to help you set year-one goals and develop a plan to raise funds, open your office, hire staff, recruit mentoring groups and begin to serve families.  Other training we provide:
    • Two days initial training for new staff director (at the national office)
    • One day of on-site individualized board and staff training every two years
    • Annual Bridge of Hope Affiliate Conference
  2. Operations manuals provide affiliates with tested operating plans and tools for operating a Bridge of Hope in your community. These include:
    • Accounting Manual - to help meet accounting standards for nonprofits
    • Board of Directors Manual - for initial and ongoing board development
    • Marketing and Church Relations Manual - to recruit church, individual and business partners for your new ministry
    • Mentor's Resource Guide - the Bridge of Hope training program for mentors 
    • Participant Handbook - for program structure and accountability
    • Personnel Manual - a human resources tool
    • Program Manual - the complete Bridge of Hope program, including all intake and program forms and tools
    • Train the Trainer's Manual - for use by those training Bridge of Hope mentors
  3. Ongoing support, including:
    • Phone consultation and mentoring for your board chair and director on issues related to program, board development and fundraising/marketing
    • Wide variety of tools, including fundraising and board development ideas plus budgeting and other program tools to use with families in the program
    • Networking opportunities throughout the year for affiliates' staff and board
    • Affiliate newsletter
    • Variety of print, video and other materials to help you engage partners - individuals, churches and businesses - in your Bridge of Hope's ministry
